• Mike's Managers Report - February 2012

    Hiya All

As per usual Sunday was a fantastic day of football in the STEP championship league!

I managed to get to see a lot of the games on the day and as usual was VERY impressed with the quality of football played!

Once again Camden kept up their 100% record by taking 6 points out 6 - although they were made to work for their points! Firstly by Elfrida who took a 2-1 lead through a quickly taken corner from Lloyd forcing the Camden goalie into a own goal! Camden stepped up a gear scoring to make it 2-2 and with seconds to go Daniel slotted home to make it 3-2! And secondly by Chelsea who played very well only losing 1-0 when once again Daniel took advantage of a mistake in midfield to score taking all 3 points!

Step also took 6 points out of 6 today so they're keeping up the pressure on the league leaders. Well done to both teams!

Also a massive well done to Lambeth & Revellers who both took 7 points out of a possible 9 both winning 2 and playing out a 0-0 draw when they met each other!

I was also impressed with the standard of goal keeping. All to often we talk about the great goals scored (and there was some outstanding goals scored today) but I really want to mention the Chelsea keeper and the Elfrida keeper who produced some fantastic saves, in fact all keepers on the day played really well hence our lowest scoring day so far!

Despite a great day for goal keepers there was some goals scored, Daniel from Camden scored 3 on the day adding to his impressive tally for the season which keeps him top goal for the season so far!

A special mention also to Andy from Revellers and Tom from Camden who scored their 1st goals of the season well done to them. We also had our 1st own goal of the season!

Anyway enough from me, I'll finish my report by once again saying thank you to all players, coaches and supporters for a great day of football

    Mike Sheehy
